Midnight Ramblings

Smiles that hide a pain A pain that breaks me inside Inside this pain the doubt The doubt of not being enough Enough to belong here Here I'm doubting again Again my weakness wins Wins this inside debate Debate that leads to nothing Nothing that can be changed Changed my thoughts, who cares? Who cares to know, anyway? Anyway, that's not the point The point should be to praise To praise who really matters Matters to me, anyway.. *** January 18th, 2017

I think society is one big false religion of having to prove we are "enough" when the truth is we are born with immeasurable worth. Great poem Claudia !

Thank you Bruce and you're correct. Society demands a lot of perfection and failure is unacceptable. I'm really glad you liked my poem :)

It is worth it to have those thoughts. It is worth it to write them down. It is worth it to communicate them to others. If it means overcoming fear, then so much the better. : )

Those are the inner questions that keep us up at night...I like how each line carried over to the next.
