Midnight Muse
So subtle
the undertow;
guiding
thoughts that descend
below awareness-
Wayward words
drifting
within dreams,
rife with
random verse…
then upward,
rhyming as they soar;
fresh consciousness astir.
Rise-
inspiration wakes!
