James, this could maybe be haiku or tanka if you played with the lines a bit. It has that "feel" to it. Great atmosphere poem.

I can see the scene..Very creative work..Thanks for stopping by and letting me know that I placed in a contest..I will have to get up in the middle of the night and see if I can see those armadillos by moonlight and write one about them..Sara
