Midlife Run

Upon reaching forty and going over the hill. None of her dreams had been fulfilled. Malaise descended on her like fall in September. Due to monotonous routines from New Years' to Decembers. On the spur of the moment longevity had it's wish. She laid burdens down for a small amount of bliss. Some were frantic wondering where she had gone. Twas learned a little later while far from home. A necessary step which preserved her life. Thereby gaining a new perspective minus stress and strife. After reattaining some measure of who she should be. Through liberation a soul's return has needed serenity.

Debra, this is a wonderful poem. I love the story. I don't know about red x's, but I can understand the bliss associated with a dramatic transition. If you did this, it is indeed a miracle. To break chains is not so easy.

True story I was hesitant about sharing initially. But, I took a chance and put it out there. It was very liberating. Thanks for your kind words.

Is there some sinister force trying to rain on my much belated mild parade or attempting to take the wind out of my long overdue sails? What's up wth the red x's? Am I some sort of unknown target? Can someone give me a reasonable clue?
