Midfall

I like to watch time pass See change before me and after Some may consider this wasteful For me it’s rapturous A day like today To experience wonder While on an early morning walk in the rain Water saturated color of dying leaves on the ground Falling from darkened half bare trees Golden yellows intensified by a grayed half light Against a violet presence Magenta burning in deep shadow Blue green brown orange flicker Swaying crowns of maiden blooms Cold front moving in Such reminds me why I'm a painter.
