Mexican Radio

Signals were emitted from a very high tower. Broadcasting was done with a million watts of power. Reception reached as far north as Canada. The waves traveled southward to Venezuela. Birds flying too closely were roasted in flight. Programs could be heard during both day and night. It was possible for this powerful transmission, because there was no communications commission. The stations with call letters beginning with “X” we would know. Their behemoth transmitters were located in Mexico.

A very interesting, informative, and historically and geographically correct piece, Robert....the old radio station in Villa Acuna (now Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila) that aired the Wolfman Jack programs long ago (from that small place across the river from Del Rio, Texas) was quite popular...and, although now different, since I live on the border, I still listen to Mexican radio every day. Good job.
