Metamorphosis

I swore I would fight For everything you stood for And everything you embraced And just for you But here’s the thing now I refuse to be kept in the dark I love you, my dear But the way you play this game isn’t fair Tell me what’s right Tell me what’s wrong Is this a petty act of revenge? Step up and tell me You think you can smile And everything will be alright And deny everything you said But I refuse this reality If you want me to change, so be it. But I warn you, my love… You won’t like who I become.

welcome to poetry soup my friend....if you have a strong stomach....stop by my poetical attempts....I had one of those little white pills and an energy drink today....be warned! your poem is very emotinally charged...I feel this way most of the time....my hubby is not a talker nor fighter. It is rough on a relationship. He is lucky I don't believe in divorce.

An effectively posed threat indeed...this certainly throws down the gauntlet and demands an explanation...edgy and stimulating. A shot of adrenalin in words -- I liked it a lot.
