Memories of the Sea
One fine summer as a child,
I sat on a beach and picked
a beautiful shell that was shaped
like a star.
I put it on my left ear,
and heard the sound of ocean waves;
my grandmother always told me that anything
that came from the sea,
smelt like it or sounded like it.
"The sea and everything in it are connected",
she told me.
