Memories Keep Coming Back

Memories Keep Coming Back I looked back upon my life today I had nothing else to do There were a lot of doors Left unopened and not used But the one I remember most Was the door that led to you It had fancy carvings here and there A nice warm inviting view Yes, I opened up that door And we had ourselves a time You and I together My heart yours and your heart mine It was only me the fool That believed such fantasy You were never mine alone It just took some time to see Ah yes that was the door That I finally had to close You had found another And so the story goes Yes I closed it very hard indeed You could almost hear it crack I saw it fade into the distance But the memories kept coming back I couldn’t seem to keep it closed And there are times I just lose track And if I am not too careful The memories just keep coming back
