Memories Memories Memories
Oh, the things we have kept in silence or hiding
Wherever are our thoughts, they are abiding.
From the deepest recesses of our mind
There, these hidden treasures we find.
Even those that gave us pain
Are sure to surface, once again.
What are these memories of our lives
But forgotten wonders that often gave us such surprise.
Because they are the wonders of both youth and age
How we sometimes long for the times those memories made.
Every day we build these blocks of pleasure
With those around us, who share their treasure.
We can speak of gifts held so long
Thoughts of yesterday, still held so strong.
It is always a sobering honor to remember for me
For memories have made us who we were, are, and still can be.
