Memories
A relaxing evening awaits me. As I settle
down by the fire. In the distance I hear
the sounds of the creek. Many days I
have traveled there. The natural order of
things. Birds sing, small tadpoles swim
the croaks of the frogs. The buzz of bees.
All the childhood memories flood back
on me. A smile breaks through the
face of content. Those were happy times
I relax to sip a cup of cocoa and remember
tales told to me by my mother. The
laughter that filled the home. Stirs a
longing in me. Anxious I am to build
such memories for a child of my own.
For now I enjoy the relaxing evening
by the fire.
