Memorial Day
All through our country's history
They came when they were called
From every village, town and city
They stood proud and tall
They never asked how much it paid
0r what rewards might be given.
They answered loud and in one voice
To this country we swear allegiance
They were your sons and daughters
Your fathers, wives and brothers
Who donned this country's uniform
To battle was their motto.
They went to fight the good fight
to protect us all from harm.
They fought morning noon and night
They answered the call to arms.
At home we vow to not forget
The service they have rendered
We vow that no matter what
The soldiers shall be remembered.
They gave their lives in service
to the citizens of the USA
And once a year we honor them
Each and every Memorial Day.
So from all of us we offer one salute.
To our soldiers and our veterans too
To let them know they are honored
For all that they do.
We take a moment to bow our heads
For those who died when called
That they are gone but not forgotten
They are heroes one and all.
