Mellow Me To Waste
Lonelier than lonely, the walls cry out to I.
I choke on sour taste as I attempt to reply.
Feelings bunch up, crouch within my throat.
I want to let them loose, fly them free, put them afloat.
Sweet, cascading, dark crimson wine,
Please, fill this crimson space in time.
My skin feels the uncaring wind blow,
Reminding my tired heart of all I don’t know.
Melt me away, oh wine – let your fragrant taste
Erase my fears and mellow me to waste.
