Measure For Measure
Measure for measure and a tit for a tat,
You may forge ahead and I can't have that.
Let's stay here awhile and check all the numbers,
One must not get ahead as the other one slumbers.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth
Were Old Testament rules that were taught as the truth
Until Christ with his ways, so mild and so meek,
Taught if our face is slapped we should turn other cheek.
It's a hard thing to do to return good for evil,
But to whom would you listen, your Lord or the devil?
Christ came to bring peace with his message of love.
It could change this wicked world to like Heaven above.
