Meadow Sweet

In the dusting of the springtime, Sweet-scented thoughts of yesterday Where our foreheads did briefly touch And ruby lips did tease and play No time to wonder and regret The angels are calling too soon This time is ours not to forget The return of duty come noon To wallow in the arms of youth Crush meadows gifts beneath our feet Our love now spent in truth forsooth The new day new life we now greet To have loved in green meadows sweet My heart did dance my life complete

This is such a truly, beautiful sonnet Mandy - so wonderfully expressed. So poetic and well written. I love the title too. ‘ In the dusting of the springtime’ - what a glorious line.’’ The angels are calling too soon’ - so touching. The ending couplet is very profound. Really enjoyed it.
