Me To Blame
With eyes a-glaze as other days
I took the car, spite drunken haze
I say I’m fine, a cab decline
Then three blocks down, I miss the sign.
The tires squeal, I jerk the wheel
Two cars collide and all goes still
Then in the chill, a screaming shrill
How could this be God’s truthful will?
That infant frame, my deepest shame
A lifeless form, and me to blame.
While in the sky, you catch my eye
A foolish dream, but I must try.
I in my car, and you afar
Oh twinkle, twinkle, little star
As limbs go slack, my vision black
Please grant my wish to take it back.
