Maypole
Painted sky cascades down to touch
a green velour carpet.
Green Man asks for a dance and an elated crowd
engages the maypole.
As young leaves stretch tips to grasp sunlight
newly birthed buds yawn.
Gaia beams with pride;
another birthday for her children brings boundless joy.
