May In Minnesota

Lightning throbs Sending rain pelting Through me Joyously soaking my soul Home now- Clothes hanging on iron glyphs; Soon to adorn my garden The sun peaks out- Bright red pinecones are forming Like little green Tipped clubs on the Norway Pine Outside my window; My heart entwined with the Budding pinecones Absorbing hope

G'day James … obviously you very close to nature. You can take something that nobody notices and turn out a very fine lyric. You don't appear to need the big picture at all which I think is great - thank you James - Lindsay

James your last three lines of this lovely poem are especially stunning in imagery and thought. Such a superb and shining write throughout that made me smile..'absorbing hope' - I relish the thought..:) and I love thunder, lightning and rain as well!

Thanks for stopping by, Susan, your words lift my spirits this cold, wintry nite, where daylight is short, skies are gray & it's dark by 5pm...
