May I Write You
May I write a poem for you,
to gently touch your soul?
May I caress your blackened world,
make diamonds with your coal?
Will you read a page to turn,
will you let your heart control?
Touch your sensitive senses,
read poems that console.
Will my poem save you, from being lost,
as your shadowed world surrounds?
You've been hurt by trusting tenderness,
as your faith has broken down.
Will this poem reach your fragile heart?
Find hidden tears you cry.
Will it change pain's shackled bond,
to hope, with wings that fly?
