Matthew

This may possibly be my last poem( for a while anyway) And is dedicated to all the poets who are about to meet Matthew within the next few days ----say your prayers be safe----and after Matthew leaves ----show Love--- be thank full and be kind to others, Thanks and God Bless A shadow like none other Slowly creeps along the ground As storm clouds twist then turn and roll With winds, that eery sound The cats all run, the bird all fly There's no one to be found That's just the way it is When Matthew comes to town The men all shrink, the women cry Where babies tears abound And all is lost, if it's not tied Battened or nailed down There is no light, that comes with day And hope's just not around So, we'll just sit and pray away When Matthew comes to town

I'm so glad you're ok, Jerry! Thank you for writing. I can't wait to read all the poems that were written ... I'm sorry the contest didn't fill up for you, but grateful to those who did write something, and to you for caring enough to have this contest. Hi Becca, I thought the storm would at least knock out our power grid, but by God's grace the storm went around us, but continued north of us to do much destruction. This has recked my schedule, so we are working hard to catch up. Take care Becca, Keep writing----i will be finalizing the contest soon---there are some remarkably beautiful poems about you know who.
