Math Woes

I'd rather write than fuss with math Words always warm my heart I cannot pass this algebra class For math is hardly a work of art! How can a negative be a number? The steps involved leave me vexed. I pay attention and end my slumber But, how can you solve equations with "X"? When will two trains meet traveling head-on? Colliding in a jumbled mess To figure just when; I really don't care To that I must confess. Why should we ponder a dollar or fraction? We hold our breath, turning blue Percents leave us limp with confused reaction Who cares if we fathom the size of a shoe? Can you add an "X" to a "Y" or a "Z"? Even regular numbers are pains Let us not bother; set us free! ‘Cause when we divide, numbers remain. All this commotion to get a degree I wonder if I'll last The learning lab is waiting for me Please, get me though this algebra class!
