Masked Remedy

Oh remedy, Our universal solution. We stand, hidden behind masks. Other can't see us; We wear you closely; The life vest of hidden truths. But there comes a time, A brief, unexpected time, When a lone soul sees past the artificial wear. You stand, naked before them, Mysteries, before hidden in your eyes, Bluntly obvious. They open you up, You who thought of yourself as a sealed book, And flip through the pages of a sad story. Cowering in fear, What can we do, Other than to wildly search for a way out? Skeptical and exclusive to all but oneself, The secrets of the heart shall one day be unraveled, One's remedy, proved ineffective.
