Mask

The young girl prepares For upcoming performance She bows and leaves stage She remembers sign Of beta hanging on neck She was never best It was always a matter Of others going further Can she remember The last time she truly said I'm a happy girl Life's a daydreaming nightmare She slips on the hockey mask Pulls out the ketchup'd chainsaw Be bold, be braver than brave She premieres tonight A supporting character All she ever was However, she knows one thing Tonight will be different She will escape this Feet drumming on pavement stones No more mask for me
