Marilyn
Beneath the shades of damaged grey
Where breath and wanting slip away
Unto the hand that offers sleep
The beckoning of some relief
The fragile step into the dark
The letting go whilst hope departs
Before the time and moment come
Escapes the scared and lonely one
Fire wraps tormenting her
The drink runs free on precious fur
Jewels and dollars now her demise
Society's girl destroyed, despised
A suicide of empty eyes
Recklessness of hateful lies
Into black the end insight
Motionless, the freeze of fright
To take the glass of poison red
At last release, for now she's dead.
