Many, Many Long Years Ago

Let me whisk you back to an enchanted land Come fly with me, please take my hand To a day and age before history's dawn Many, many long years ago Feast your eyes upon phantasmagoric sights Shooting stars at mid-day, rainbows at night Verdant green meadows, vast rolling lawns Many, many long years ago Forests filled with towering trees, laden with fruit Of eye-popping size, bursting with juice to suit Sweeter than nectars from the gardens of Babylon Many, many long years ago Rubbing your eyes in wonder, you espy Adam and Eve Two-legged animals stroll by; they can speak, you perceive Breathe a deep sigh, weep for an Eden that's gone Many, many long years ago Inspired by -- Repeating Refrain Poetry Contest (Not a contest entry)

Nicely penned Gershon...makes one ponder thoughts....if they went back to that garden and things were done differently would the world be better off..i wonder! I enjoyed this one! :) hugs.

Ha, ha. Intriguing thought... Though with all their worldly knowledge, Adam and Eve probably would have felt out-of-place back in that idyllic setting... Who knows? … They say 'you can't got back in life.' Usually true... Thanks for the viewpoint and for all of your support. Appreciated! Warm wishes, Gershon

So nice of you to compliment this one, as surely it is as the pale moonlight compared to the bright sunlight of the original. Thanks again, Kim. :) gw
