mama's treasure

my mama's beautiful, long, auburn hair
was piled up high on her head
undone, hung to her waist

mama's lovely hair
was quite untouched by scissors
daddy loved it long
I wonder if her headaches
came from those heavy tresses

a beautician wrapped
my mama's hair in a bun
for her funeral

Hi Joyce; I like this poem. I had an aunt that had her hair very long. My uncle liked it that way. She always had big head aches. Ine day she cut her hair and her head aches were gone. Thanks for sharing....... Lucilla
