Mama's Love
She would come and wake us early and we'd roll out of bed,
Cook a little breakfast and brush our sleepy heads.
Then walk us down the driveway to wait on that old bus,
And once She'd seen we boarded she'd wave at all of us.
Then she'd wash the dishes, Stoke the fire, and make up all 5 beds,
go and feed the chickens while looking for some eggs.
Times were hard back then and I've come to realize,
Is I probably would not have made it.
But for the love in Mommas eyes.
