Make Aim To the Stars

Make aim to the stars The motion of the tide and the movement therein Beckons on to me, Silent as it moves over the oceans width Gentle as a wind from the sea Mysterious is the future of our lives Only a semblance of what’s to be; Through the miracle of our own emotion Or the brilliance of the setting sun; For in the time it takes to aim at a star We may only get to the moon Here is the passion our thoughts beheld Measured by an existent promise’ For a sound so soft is the prodigy of one’s life Making faith from our own religion, Capture the sight in a twilit bright Twinkling from centuries past Yet the wisdom we gain from our dark privations Is held near the infinity of space, But we reach what’s lit from a billion years Like the measure a second inspired Look to the wisdom in the extent of our lives And relinquish all that remains, For the strongest belief is held deep in the heart Like those that shine from a star; Soft is a light that beams through darkness Reflecting aged past… When held secure is the aspect of life And the realm of its desire, For in the time it takes to aim at a star We may only get to the moon By m. norton
