Make a Wish
No greater need than my passion pleas for God and universe
To tenderly answer my heartfelt, soul wrapped, constant wish,
Thus effectively setting my sharp fears on course to disperse.
Love for son grows more achingly ardent with each breath I swish,
But no breath will bear ease while pining for dread’s passing whish.
My challenged, gentle boy who now stands a challenged man,
Revels in my home, by my hearth, where harmony is strong.
Fears grow in me, seeded with thoughts of my limited lifespan.
My maternal heart makes wishes to know that when I am gone
My son’s fill of love and security will somehow be lifelong.
