Mah Country Song, Y'Awl
Wul, I nev'r bin sombuddy and I ain't sombuddy now.
I merry'd purty Lizza 'n her daddy had a cow.
Livin' in the country is whar I wanna be,
Life is gosh darn simple, perty much lak me.
Pap-in-lahw's a sinner, he ain't got no soul.
Preacher says he lost it, goin' on a roll.
Cain't nev'r git it back, so the good book say'd.
Whut good's a fella's soul, if ya lose it with yer haid?
Wul, me 'n purty Lizza play ketch-up ever day,
Tryin' to mek a repluca whilst rollin' in the hay.
Mama say'd the way it werks is hangin' on reel tight,
But hangin' on to Lizza shore keeps me up at night.
But thet's ok I figger, 'cause daylite's jus fer naps,
'Cept ya kno, in Pappy's case, he's to bizzy shootin' craps.
Jus in case yore wonderin' — ain't likely — jus' the same,
You prob'ly never heer'd of me, nev'r kno'd mah name.
'Cause I nev'r bin sombuddy and I ain't sombuddy now.
I merry'd purty Lizza 'n her daddy had a cow.
Livin' in the country is whare I wanna be,
Life is gosh darn simple, perty much lak me.
