Magic Seems Alive

Life's a jolt of reality infused with imagination. Pride masks aging lines and wrinkles without any hesitation. With sagging skin and brittle bones, life's a jolt of reality. Memories immortalize youth, while death offers finality. Passion's flame sputters and flickers, as lovers slowly drift apart. Life's a jolt of reality, and yet, hope exists in your heart. Dreams disappear over the years, much like rules of morality. And although magic seems alive, life's a jolt of reality. (Quatern) 6/3/2015

Somehow you managed to have dark thoughts come across as light or neutral... the repetition of "life’s a jolt of reality" gives your poem a musical (or hypnotic) quality that begs to not take things so seriously... Quite awesome, Emile.

Fabulous. You are going straight to my favorite poet's file, Emile. Love your work. I've not had as much time on Soup, lately. I have my defense for my thesis tomorrow. Keep me in your mind and prayers. Hugs
