Maclean's River

Maclean's River Does the old river still flow and does life still run through it... Does the old river still wash away sins as we knew it... Are rainbows still made overhead... enticing trout from bed... Can you still hear from the whispering rocks if you listen... Can you still go there...and learn about God while you're fishin'... ©deborah burch 11/19/2016 ____________________________________ In honour of John Maclean's father: Norman Maclean who wrote, "A River Runs Through It"... When John read the poem, his response was "Yes"...

Deb. Just fell upon your questions to me here. I don't know who has been playing around changing things on you. i don't think any of MY stuff has changed. Though Soup decided to put 2016 automatically on our new poems. I think they may have done the same for other poems but according to the year. It's kind of silly since many of my poems posted earlier years came from the decade earlier than when i posted them!

I had always liked the soup and learned from other poets. Made dear friends. Now it appears to have changed and I hope I don't find my work under another name out there somewhere. Thank you and all the others whom I dearly love for all you've done.

Thanks for responding sweetie. But no my name and my post date was removed from 30+ poems!!! It took me 3 hrs going through all my poems and putting my name back and dates I could remember. Now I've got to find the original jump drive and notebooks. I'm so very disappointed. I've created a strongly written letter for the powers that be.

I really like this. was it in that recent contest? And thanks so much for the head's up. I keep doing that with my acrostics. I have such sloppy handwriting that i mistake letters for wrong ones and then I misspell my acrostics. Good grief!

Hi sweetie! Thanks. It was in CONTEST but didn't rate. I did send it to John though in honour of his dad who wrote "a river runs through it", btw, and he says the answer to the poem is "yes". Lol. My eyes cross doing those acrostic too. Lol. I can't get in touch with the soup bosses. And my name/dates have disappeared from many of my poems. I didn't authorize anyone to access or change my work. Any ideas?? My soup mail only receives and transmits. Deb
