Lying To Yourself About Lying
When I told you I’d be someone
I knew that I was lying.
The next time I saw you out somewhere
To you, I was trying
Keeping pace with strangers
The competition of our lives
Motivations endangered
Lost in reasons for our strife
At the end of all decisions
Who claims to be right?
Who dons the crown and make up?
The ugly king and I
Parrelel ambitions
Trail blazed by your peers
What you are is what you are
And me? I’m just here
