Lying Lips
Peace spoken from lying lips giving time to reload
While the liar talks of peace, writing treaties so bold
The empire stands in splendor before the first shots are fired
But the lips can sell the deceit that only the liar desires
The victim sees the smile and feels the pat on the back
But a tongue may utter pretty words before the soldiers attack
When the treaty is finally broken and a promise remembered not
When lying lips have spoken and the words so soon forgot
The silence, now is shattered and the best of the brave lie dead
and innocent lives are broken and blood for power is shed
The reason now falls mute for nations are caught in the grip
Left to stand to judge the cost whispered by lying lips
