Lullaby

Angels surround my bed I never knew. I forgot to open my eyes. Peaceful in repose softest fingers caress my cheek. Airlight wings cover me in protective warmth against the chill of winter’s open window soothing nightmare’s screams I no longer remember as my tears dampen white feathers.
