Lowdown Lonesome Blue

Lowdown Lonesome Blue I woke up one morning feeling lowdown lonesome blue. I thought I can beat this, so I called a friend or two. One said he was busy it’s a lowdown rotten shame. But he would call me later and later never came. So I called another friend and said I’m feeling down. He said that he would look me up next time he’s in town. He’s sure been gone a long time or a million miles away. Cause it’s been awhile now he’s not called me since that day. I worked my way on down my list I called every friend I had. They all got real busy quick when I said I’m feeling bad. I turned my heart to face book the friends I haven’t met. Oh the joy that I recall finding them on the internet. I posted all my troubles and my page got kind of quiet. I waited there a long long time but I could not deny it. So I read about a man whose life was near its end. I went to spend some time with him and made a brand new friend. I made myself a whole new list of friends I’ve yet to meet. People feeling lowdown lonesome blue I meet on the street. And when I see that lonesome look and they say they’re just fine. When I don’t see their smile, I give them one of mine. Edwin C Hofert

Edwin, I am slowly getting through all your poetry and find them well done. Hopefully when I get through some more, I'll have additional comments. Well done and thanks for sharing. George.
