Low Down Blues

Low Down Blues Night was wickedly long and so sad woman gone with everything I had No recollection of this in the plan this gal done left her loving man crickets chirping to beat the band This gal done left here for all time took my heart and every thin dime No sorrow floats in her wicked heart no crying now, praying I don't start lord knows this man sure did his part She left a few plates with an old hat took my fine dog, left her old cat No worry how her man going to get by no good-bye note, told no reason why now this heart has started to cry Night surely can not get any worse so sure my life wrapped in a curse No future hope in this tired old life had sweet plans to make her my wife see only darkness, misery and strife R.J. Lindley 04/17/1978 An old write that I wrote while drunk on whiskey the night my love Stacy took off for greener pastures! She phoned me 4 days later from Houstin Texas. Told me her uncle had died and she was about to inherit a damn lot of money! Then said, I just didn't want to share any of it with you. Life is like that sometimes...

Sometimes the bad things are blessings in disguise. This has the rhythm of an old blues tune. And I do love the Blues!

EXACTLY, my friend! Often good comes from the bad. I now see she was not the right lady for me. Eventually I found that beautiful lady that has the beauty inside and out! I finally learned that the "inner beauty" is far , far , far more important! Had to overcome my genetic programming to find that out..

I want to cuss, my friend. You deserve far better treatment. Leaving you because she didn't want to share her money? Ridiculous. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Your poem evoked great sorrow. I'm glad you have recovered and are happy now! Love, Carolyn (Sometimes those poems we write in the depths of sadness can be awesome. This one surely is.)

Well, it all came out good in the end. She may have been playboy material outside but her insides(heart and soul) was dark , rotten greed. I am now glad I missed it but at the time I answered with a whiskey party and not caring crusade for many months. Live and learn...

Hi Robert, This is very sad and the blue feeling is laying around it like a heavy rug, but I really like it. Well, written rhyming and packed with emotions. It's nice to see an "old" piece from you too! I know you are doing much better now, and the past is something we have in our suitcases. Sorry, for late feedback/no feedback, but I'm having visitors from abroad.

Hi Gry. I got plenty of the old ones just hiding in my tired old brain and a couple hundred written into my journals. Currently I am trying to not depend on the old ones so much. I want to keep writing new ones before I cash in my chips..

That is true my friend. The hard path I took lead me to the paradise I eventually found...... I just wish it had not had so many damn pitfalls along the way. I tripped into just about every one of them.lol

Makes me livid to read this. How cruel the heart can be, Robert. I'm glad you are happy now and look back on this in the safety and security of a life filled with blessings. Thanks for sharing....Hugs

Life is usually a bowl of cereal with no milk. I am ok now, got my milk and everything.
