Love's Sweet Song

Let down your flaxen hair, come sit by me, remain awhile, the fire is bright and warm. Chill night will soon withdraw and bring the dawn and you'll be gone, and I'll no longer see your face, or hearken to your sweeten'd voice, the strains of days mean nothing to my ears; they hold no sway in challenging my fears and my anxieties, you are my choice. Abide my sweet and be my heart's desire; sing softly, raise my soul on angel's wing and fly with me to everlasting spring where we shall be press'd close in passion's fire!

Thanks Andrea... Yeah, I deliberately left out the final couplet... didn't think it was need, and besides it provokes comments like your own! Blessings, Keith

this is awesome. It's nearly a love sonnet but does not have the final couplet. I love your use of enjambment. it is something I find natural to do and I enjoy seeing others doing it.

about your poem, Keith what a sweet and wonderful song. I feel as if she is the one you sing about. The way she calms you... Hugs. LINDA
