Love's Last Wish
Late at night,
I’m not crying, again;
All the you is draining from me
In the shape of desert-dry eyelashes
And a never reminiscing heart.
I simply want to
Bleed for you,
My love.
Smearing across the broken glass of
Far behind farewells,
Reversing against forgetfulness
And heartbreak,
I won’t not remember you;
The love you wished me to banish.
I cry into my pillows.
You were always shy;
Invisibly holding your hand
Through those old, frozen school halls,
I convey a sigh
And simply kiss you,
My love.
Shivering in hotness,
We toss the sleep-over bed covers off our skin and
They begin to tangle,
Weaving those intricate carvings of your heart
Into a simple treasure map.
You ask me if I love you
All over again,
And I simply reflect,
My love.
Dry again.
If I were to forget you,
I wouldn’t know enough to even
Cry.
Without comprehension,
I would wish
Only for death.
