Love's Gentle Plea

Love's Gentle Plea The crackling of the flames and popping wood, Anoint my face, aglow, with cheeks of rose. I wander through the mists of mem'ries: Could A love so true be brought out of repose... Oh! Gently... knocks the wine of love that stood So stalwart...languishing in passion's throes. This pang of Cupid's arrow within me Bids sweet and tender kisses...set me free. 1.7.2017©deborah burch Form: Ottava Riva
