Love's Anguish

I waited for you
you never came

You called but
I didn’t answer

I told you something
but you didn’t hear

You made a promise
you didn’t keep

I smiled at you
But you were unhappy

You bought me flowers
And I cried

I say I love you
You say you love me
But we spend the night
In separate rooms
