Lovers Not Fighters

My reputation is that of a jester But I DO have a serious side Some Soupers find it out of character And worry that I'm not my old self Not true... this is still me Commenting on what seems to be A much more dangerous world Correct me if I'm wrong Perhaps it's because of my advanced age Kinda hoped we would have found peace by now Not a chance, we humans will probably never get it right It's written into our DNA We'd like to think we're lovers, not fighter Unfortunately, it's never been true and never will be It's not the most attractive side of the human condition We think we're above our natural combative instincts If per chance peace on earth is ever to be achieved I'll be long gone but I'll be watching And will return for a day or two To revel in a world when peace finally reigns I'm a lover, not a fighter! © Jack Ellison 2104

Thoughtful write Jack! Not to mention age here u r not at all old, many of my patients are 90 plus young riding a bicycle n paddling 3km almost daily! keep up ur healthy spirits my dear friend!

I ride my exercise bike for 20 minutes every day and eat smartly! So I'm still doing okay! Thanks for the encouragement, dear doctor! XXXX

Guns are selling VERY well for home protection around here. If they come we're ready. Our area was VERY peaceful, 80% black, but is now on guard. They had equality where I'm at... Those that live in the more violent areas do violence on each other. They were offered school grants, but didn't finish high school because they didn't want to, and couldn't keep jobs because they didn't want to work... No one is given every thing. But it's easier to blame others than yourself.

What a sad state of affairs! These hoodlums are mindless deviant souls with no aim in life but to stir up trouble and cause havoc!

There are middle class blacks in our neighborhood. They are friendly, good people. A VERY fancy home neighborhood close to us are owned by blacks... Blacks get ahead here if they try... Violence will hurt that. People will have to be more careful who they hire... Sad but true... No one around here plans to go back to Ferguson to shop for a very long time... They destroyed more than 17 businesses. The taxes businesses pay... keep the schools going.
