Lovely

Line after line the moving tell; Observe the rhymes that fit the feel; Voice echoes fine as thoughts now dwell; Etch in good time surge that reveals; Linger with strokes that fund new poise; Yonder starts swirl of ripples here. One motive yokes the curl of choice; Niche a sure twirl that style sparks clear; Love primes the play as words shape thoughts; In a short take a touch of joy; Value now stays upon sure lot; Each construct makes and shades sure ploy; Loiter and see what feelings say; Yield what can be a fertile way. Leon, How do you do it. I just completed four. Mine mainly center on a new idea I woke up with, things happening in the news and my daily happenings. How about you? What incites you to write a poem? You and I are top recent producers. It is just after 0800 here on 9 April. Jim Horn

Leon, You and I and several other poets on PoetrySoup are definitely different. Sometimes I can wake up in the middle of the night and write a poem. I always do wonder if one day a poem might not be in my mind though. Jim

Dear James: I have a daily routine to write something. I just sit down for 30 to 60 minutes and let the ideas come. I don't know what I am going to write until then. I read a fair bit during the day but not the newspapers. Topics I like include haiku, philosophy and inspirational subjects. I take a walk around my home and get a feel of things or happenings. These all add to my feelings from which the poetry flows. Most of my poems are acrostic in couplets, quatrains, 3-line rhymes, sonnets and alliteration. Haiku fragments emerge from my personal observations. I write because I feel a need to create fresh new pieces every day. It's now 10:15pm here in Singapore. Leon
