Love Letter
Dear Love,
Cans't thou return to the
Envelope which once sealed
The essence of you?
I remember you;
Kind, decadent,
And swift as wind songs.
I know you now;
Harsh, unjust, and bitter,
A slow procession of grief.
Had I one million words,
You would not return.
I know this,
For I have tried.
Had I one million tears,
You would not return.
I know this for I have cried.
My face has felt no stream
from eyes which weep.
My soul drowns
From heart cries,
Sorrow's rivers' deep.
I pray.
I trust.
I love.
I must.
