Love In the Time of Coronavirus

Daylight breaks through the curtains of our room as I rise from the warmth of my love to face this day I walk through this abandoned Sedona resort to stop and soak deeply into heat of the spa waters as steam rises up in the morning fog My only companions two lovers de-robing to bare their bear bodies they have been here before ***** pioneers paving the way for these brazen boys A 70 year old man plunges unapologetically into the pool breaking the morning’s silence He has been thumbing his nose and pantsing Death for years The sun breaks through the clouds as the red rock peaks seek another day cut from glaciers revealing their age old beauty I look to their power and their guidance to see me through this time I now face as they look back unflinching and the wind whispers to me that we are, as we have always been, alone
