Painting by Buddy Mccue used with his permission.

Lotus Lotus petals soft with shadows Drinking from your shallow pond, Blossoms that compete with heaven, With the twilight hour you bond. Aquatic in your very nature, Deemed fit to float at Buddha's feet, Your peaceful beauty calls awareness Where such enlightened beings meet. Sacred plant known through the ages Your spirit dwells within my heart And centered there, your spark of light Assures me that we'll never part. 11-14-18 rev. This is soothing in its simple clarity - the skill of composition combining the elements of poetry to pleasing effect. As Jan says - ‘A gem’.

Just stunning, Connie. So many great writes in this challenge. It must of been a tough judge. I know some people hate a lot of poems tied but I see this equal to many of the poems. I loved, loved, loved it. I am adding this to my favs.

ok, I finally found one to POST a message , a poem of yours I had not read yet. This was a good one to post and I hope more people will come and see it, how lovely it is. Connie, I think people are not "getting" my winter rondeau. It was not about the winter of my life, but of the WORLD (the end of the world) Guess it was not one of my more "lucid" writes! Luv, andrea

I entered this in Rick's contest that closed very quickly. He said it was okay to enter an older poem restricted to 12 lines or under. Hope he likes it as I have added a painting of an artist I have been in contact with and have his permission to post his painting with my poem. It goes so perfectly with my poem. I need to get off here and get some house work done. Thanks... hugs, Connie

Great Poem and beautiful feelings endowed with powerful words. I am going to make it my fav.poem. I was also thinking to write on Buddha, who was an incarnation of love and peace. Hope you would enjoy my poem Boatman’s Song which relates to the same era. With love and best wishes, Ravindra
