Lost Muse

LOST MUSE My poetry muse has left me, I can't remember the week when it crept away from me, the outcome was looking bleak. I tried to write a poem, my thoughts were in a muddle, and I was left bewildered as words I tried to juggle. I could write about seasons but I've written many before, surely there has to be a theme that I haven't done before? Then inspiration struck me as my mind began to clear, I could write a love sonnet like famous poet Shakespeare. The Sonnet Love is a topic that needs to expand, Try to imagine a world without hate. It overcomes fear, is greater than hope, Speaks all languages, no need to translate. If only love could spread like a curtain To cover the world and hate not embrace, It would cause wars and all disputes to cease, Thus making our world a far better place. Love is a powerful force it is true, It binds us together, not tear apart. We would be safe and have nothing to fear, As peace would be reigning in every heart. Ring out the message across world-wide land, Love is a topic that needs to expand. Copyright © Vivien Wade August 2018
