Lost
It's hard to explain the feelings that
That cross my heart and mind
How a person can be so misunderstood
When they are innocent and kind
I never once had selfish thoughts
Or wanted all to be mine
Just making people laugh, smile and talk
Until the sunset passed the time
I once thought that being wanted
Was such a marvelous thing
I didn't suspect that by any means
It would make people's jealousy ring
It has happened several times before
And will happen time and again
But just know that when it does
My heart will no longer be sore
