Loss of a King
Desire to be equal out of the question for that day.
Afraid to speak out kept firm in their place.
Abused and mistreated segregation the way
they needed a champion to carve a new way.
Their prayers were answered from a small southern town.
A great man arose and shook the establishment down.
This man called King was a true rising sun
loved by most hated by some.
He cleared racial barriers and the victories were sweet.
Then a sinister (Ray) brought the King to his knees.
He stole from the world a truly great man
the likes of which we will never see again.
Many times I wonder what the world would be like today
if the King named Martin Luther would have been allowed to stay.
