Looney Tune Mentality

The very moment it's offered we accept it blindly, no questions asked. Yet every time we give something away there is almost always strings attached.

So true, we sometimes just accept things blindly. Gotta love me some Daffy Duck!

This is so sadly true my friend, I believe we all have a tendency to do that in some way! I believe its human nature to do things like that, I understand the simplicity of the reasons but the complexity is too deep for me to fathom! I enjoyed your deep philosophical poem here my friend! I love a good poem that will make you think! You have written a masterful piece Timothy, Great Work!!

Thanks Russell! You brought up a good point... the reasons WHY we expect something in return, from a logical point of view, makes sense. But depending on where our hearts are at we won't be so concerned about the trade off.

It's called give and take Tim, sharing, guess that's what being human is all about. Can't believe you have never read 'If', this was the first grown up poem I was made to learn and recite. 'If you can keep your head when all about you, Are losing theirs', etc. Take care, Richard

I just read If... wow, what an insightful poem! I knew Rudyard Kipling wrote books, but I didn't know he also dabbled in poetry... very nice! I appreciate you liked my grook. Not necessarily trying to be pessimistic, but it is true lots of times... people giving something to you and expecting something in return...
